CD Reviews

Makeout Party - Lengths and Limits (myspace.com/makeoutparty )

The alternative/indie rock, four man band comes out with a new album, Lengths and Limit. With environmentally influenced artwork and 11 tasty tracks, Makeout Party provides the perfect album for their listeners. With lyrics like “Times been moving so fast, I feel as if I have to hurry faster now,” you will get a story out of every song. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and listen to the soothing, modern vide this CD will set. Sounds Like: Boys Like Girls, The Scenic, Envy on the Coast. – Allisa Peterson

Faster Faster – Hopes and Dreams (myspace.com/gofasterfaster)

Today, many pop/punk bands sound very similar. They have the same beat, the lead singer sounds exactly alike, and they talk about the same things in their lyrics. But Faster Faster’s Hopes and Dreams provides 12, intelligent tracks that will blow your mind. Aside from the fact that the band itself wrote all the music and lyrics, each track adds its own spark. Each song has imposing verses like 'and it's you I can't resist, I never thought I could feel like this again', a jazzy vibe that will be sure to make you start dancing, and catchy song titles like 'Backstabbing Never Seemed So Friendly,' and 'From My TV Screen To Your Bedroom'. This album has songs that will remind you of Addicted, Scotty Doesn't Know, and Lights Out. This CD just shows you how much of an atmosphere this band will bring to their listeners, and how they have a different personality and rhythm than any other pop/punk band today. I really enjoyed listening to Hopes and Dreams and think it compliments Faster Faster very well. This CD is a must have if you like Valencia, Boys Like Girls, All Time Low There For Tomorrow, The Scenic, Blink-182, or We the Kings. – Alissa Peterson
